Introduction
Our farm is set atop a hill in the small southern town of Leoma, Tennessee. You can hear the church bells ring across the meadow and can feel the gentle urge to live a simple, sincere life. Half a decade ago when we first moved out to our small farm, I started with a small flock of several different breeds, including French Black Cooper Marans, Rhode Island Reds, and a black Ameraucana that I fittingly named Ivy. I developed a severe case of poison ivy after searching for her endlessly in the woods behind our house on a day that she went missing from our flock (only to have her return on her own accord a few hours later).
It was then that I discovered my third great love (my first great love being my husband and my second great love being our four children). I felt an instant connection to Ivy's inquisitive nature and felt compelled to explore the Ameraucana breed further.
I am smitten by the friendly, docile nature of Ameraucanas and am in awe of the beautiful blue eggs that they lay. I have learned a great deal of information over the past few years regarding raising and breeding show quality Ameraucanas. I have also taken the time to educate myself regarding the underlying genetics of each color variety. I am proud to say that I now raise and sell show quality potential Ameraucana chickens in Wheaten, Blue Wheaten and Lavender/Self blue.
I breed all of our Ameraucanas towards the breed standard that is outlined by the American Poultry Association. I enjoy showing my Ameraucanas in and around the southeast. Please take a moment to visit the pages that I have set aside for each color variety that I specialize in. You will find detailed information about each variety on their specified page as well as photographs of my poultry. If you have any questions please feel free to send me an email at [email protected].
